Jaime's Review of Between by Cyndi Tefft
It just figures that the love of Lindsey Water's life isn't alive at all, but the grim reaper, complete with a dimpled smile and Scottish accent.
After transporting souls to heaven for the last 300 years, Aiden MacRae has all but given up on finding the one whose love will redeem him and allow him entry through the pearly gates.
Torn between her growing attraction to Aiden and heaven's siren song, Lindsey must learn the hard way whether love really can transcend all boundaries. Excerpt from Goodreads.
Jaime's review...
This was one of those books that sucks you in from the very first page! Lindsey is a very lovable character and her struggles seem so real deciding between love and loss. I fell in love with Aiden the minute he opened his mouth and I imagined him talking with a Scottish accent. I love accents especially Scottish ones. I also loved he spoke French fluently as I speak passable French so I didn't even need a translation.
The story unfolds nicely as Lindsey and Aiden fall for each other and go on adventures to Scotland, France, and a small cabin in Washington. I could see each place so vividly I felt like I was there. Then somewhere around the middle Cyndi throws a HUGE twist into the story I was ripping my hair out screaming NO at my kindle! I won't say what the twist is but be warned it's a doozy that'll make you want to read faster to see how the story ends. I loved the interaction Lindsey has with the other characters in the story as well but I can't say much there either as it would ruin a part of the story. So with that I am saying this book was frustratingly amazing and I can't wait for the next one. If you love a good YA read with a paranormal take I that's fresh and new go buy this book you won't be disappointed.

Oubliette Blog tour and Review
Welcome to the first stop on the Oubliette blog tour! First of all I want to say I love the word Oubliette it always reminds me of the movie Labyrinth. If you've seen it you know what I'm talking about if not go see the movie!!! Because it truly rocks :D So onto the cool stuff the lovely Megg Jensen is holding an awesome contest for the release of the second book in the Cloud Prophet trilogy check it out over on her blog here's the link. http://meggjensen.blogspot.com/2011/06/public-libraries-contest-of-all.html Now remember to come back and read my review lol ;)
Right so here's my review....
Reychel thought she was finally free. She was wrong.
Everyone saw her gift of prophecy as a blessing, but her gift is uncontrollable. No one alive can teach her to manipulate her unique gift and the answers she needs lie buried within a madman’s journals.
She’s thrust in the midst of a brewing war and the only uniting factor for her people is their belief in the Prophet. Will Reychel learn to control her gift or will she be forced to deliver a false prophecy that could lead her people into a violent war? Excerpt from Meggs blog.
So I really loved Anathema and most of us know that the second book in a series or trilogy usually doesn't even come close to being as good as the first book. Well Oubliette was EVEN BETTER!!!! How Megg does it I have no idea. I was immediately sucked right back into Reychelle's world which was awesome since Anathema ended on a cliffhanger of sorts. Oubliette picks off exactly where Anathema ended there was no skipping ahead and I really appreciated that.
Now that Reychelle has found out her past she now must figure out her future and not as a slave but as a free person. She is portalled to the Southern Kingdom where she meets a whole new set of people and she has to figure out whom to trust again. Life is never easy for Reychelle but it's making her a stronger character in Anathema I found her on the weak side but she is really growing now. There is also for you Mark lovers out there plenty of him plus another hottie (not a triangle lol) Ace whom I absolutely love.
The story progresses nicely and there's some twists and turns I didn't expect about her prophecy it's actually a pretty cool twist and the part with the Oubliette blew my mind! That's all I'm saying. So if you've read Anathema I can't wait for you to read Oubliette and if you're new to the trilogy what are you waiting for go get them now!
Thank you to Megg Jensen for the early review copy and asking me to participate in the blog tour! You are truly awesome my friend!

Jaime's Review of Anathema by Kathleen Tucker
Evangeline has spent her teenage years in obscurity. Her foster parents have the emotional aptitude of robots and her classmates barely acknowledge her existence. About to turn eighteen and feeling like a social pariah, she is desperate to connect with someone. Anyone.
When Evangeline meets Sofie after literally stumbling upon her café, she believes she’s found that connection. Willing to do anything to keep it, she accepts a job as Sofie’s assistant and drops everything to fly to Manhattan, where she is thrust into a luxurious world of Prada, diamonds, and limitless cash.
With such generosity and kindness, it’s easy for Evangeline to dismiss certain oddities . . . like Sofie’s erratic and sometimes violent behavior, and the monstrous guard dogs. She’s even willing to dismiss her vivid dreams of mob-style murders, beautiful homeless people living in caves, and white-eyed demons that haunt her each night as figments of her imagination—especially when one of those figments is the gorgeous Caden. When she wakes up with bite marks on her neck, the fairy tale quickly turns into a nightmare. She slowly unravels the mystery surrounding Sofie and friends, and the reality of the bites and the “dreams.” What she discovers is far more mysterious and terrible than anything she could have imagined.
In a world where everyone has motive to lie for personal gain, Evangeline must decide which deception is least likely to get her killed. Excerpt from Goodreads.
Jaime's review.....
Kathleen Tucker's debut novel Anathema was an amazing read! I couldn't categorize it as a Urban Fantasy YA read alone as there are some Dystopian aspects to it as well. The two different worlds she has created are both wonderfully amazing places one set in New York with shopping trips to Prada and extravagant homes. The other a world where theres no technology around and people live in caves with warm underground springs with beautiful waterfalls. The twist is whats the kicker here and I wish I could tell you all but I can't it would spoil the story so you'll have to read it to find out.
I absolutely fell in love with the MC Evangeline and her band of friends Caden, Amelie, Bishop, Fiona, Max, and Sophie. Each character had a personality that jumped right off the pages. I wanted to shop with Sophie, have girl talk with Amelie and Fiona, go fishing with Bishop, make out with Caden *swoons*, and cuddle up next to Max by the fire and read.
The story itself was beautifully written I admit at first I was like what's going on how could all this make sense? Then just as i was scratching my head going WTH the answers to my questions were revealed and let me tell you when you get those answers you'll be like whoa didn't see that coming! The answers are well worth the wait and now I want more I need book two now! I wish I could tell you more but I'd have to post spoilery and I don't do that so if you want to find out what I'm talking about buy the book!

A Q&A with the authors of Nightfall
Their passion will transform them.
Growing up with an unstable, often absent father who preached about the end of the world, Jenna never thought, in her wildest nightmares, that his predictions would come true. Or that he would have a plan in place to save her–one that includes the strong, stoic man who kidnaps and takes her to a remote cabin in the Pacific Northwest.
The mysterious ex-Marine named Mason owes a life-debt to Jenna’s father. Skilled and steadfast, he’s ready for the Change, but Jenna proves tough to convince. Until the power grid collapses and the mutant dogs attack–vicious things that reek of nature gone wrong.
When five strangers appear, desperate to escape the bloodthirsty packs, Jenna defies her protector and rescues them. As technology fails and the old world falls away, Jenna changes too, forever altered by supernatural forces. To fight for their future, she and Mason must learn to trust their instinctive passion–a flame that will see them through the bitter winter, the endless nights, and the violence of a new Dark Age.
