KATE WINTERS HAS WON IMMORTALITY. BUT IF SHE WANTS A LIFE WITH HENRY IN THE UNDERWORLD, SHE'LL HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT. Becoming immortal wasn't supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she's as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he's becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate's coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans. As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future. Henry's first wife, Persephone.
I liked The Goddess Test, it
had a slow start but by the end I was hooked so when I had a chance to read Goddess Interrupted I said hell yes! I
couldn’t wait to get back into Kate’s world and see where this story was going
to lead.
It picks up right after Kate’s “summer” away and she goes to the
underworld to rule with Henry. Ok team Henry fans don‘t shoot me I like him for
Kate but for me I’m totally Team James! Oh and I was mighty annoyed with Kate
in this book. Her insecurities really made me angry. I mean how many times did
she have to hear that Henry loved her from everyone and I mean everyone? That
being said I think that I have a new favorite character Persephone. She was
awesome! I loved how she didn’t put up with anyone’s crap even from a titan and
a psycho goddess.
I was really happy we got to see more of the underworld in
this book and I loved how Aimee made it change to suit whoever’s little part
that they were in. I mean if you felt like you deserved to burn in hell that’s
what you did. If you wanted bunnies, sunshine, and flowers that’s what you got.
So that was really cool. I also loved that we got a lot of James in this book
that made me a happy girl! Oh and the ending?!?!? Aimee is very cruel!
So speaking of James I chose a passage between him and Kate because I
loved his honesty and his affection for Kate. And well because I like him J
To my immense
satisfaction, James winced.” Believe what you want, but your deal with Henry is
clear. He has you for six months, no more. You can do whatever you want during
the summer, and he has no say in it.”
“That doesn’t
give me the right to break his damn heart.” I stalked off toward camp. “And it
doesn’t give you the right to try to make me. I can’t believe you, James. Out
of all the nasty things to do, playing me like that—“
“I wasn’t playing
anyone.” He hurried to catch up, and I refused to look at him. “I’m not doing
this for fun, Kate. You’re the one who invited me to go to Greece, and I said
yes because I like spending time with you. And because I wanted to help you see
what you’d be missing if you decided to come back. You can’t yell at me for
that—I behaved. No matter how badly I wanted to kiss you, I never did.”

I have heard so many great things about this series that I finally ordered it after reading your review. I adore Greek mythology, and this series sounds like a fantastic way to feed my addiction. Your review is wonderful, and I appreciate the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I agree with you . . . the author was so very cruel with that ending she wrote. While I wasn't a huge fan of this book compared to the first, which I loved a lot, but I'm still SO eager to read the third book. Wonder what other surprises the author has installed for us??
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with your take on this book! My feelings exactly! :)
ReplyDeleteReaders should be excited for the next in this series! The author manages to add in unexpected twists and surprises that will probably never occur to the reader. This book is a great read for young adult/teen readers.
