Hey Hector! Thanks for stopping by to answer a few questions for me here at Two Chicks On books! I know you’re a busy guy so I’ll get right to it.

Jaime: Speaking of being busy. I know taking care of Elisa is a full time job but what do you do in your spare time?

Hector: I have very little spare time. When I'm not with the queen, I'm training with my men or keeping up with my duties as a Quorum Lord. I do like to read, though. I've recently taken an interest in architectural history.

Hmmm interesting…..

Jaime: Losing your best friend Alejandro must have been terrible! How are you coping with it?

Hector: I admit, it's hard to talk about. I like to keep busy so I don't have to think about it too much. It makes me more determined than ever to keep Elisa safe, though.

Good for you staying busy is a good thing!

Jaime: Do you have feelings for Elisa? Or are you just one heck of an attentive guard?

Hector: I would die for her.

*Swoons* *Dies*!!!! That is all!

Jaime: How about your family back home do you miss them being so far away from them?

Hector: I miss them every day. I write to my mother and brothers a lot—that helps. I hope they come to the capital soon. I'd love for them to meet their queen in person.

Jaime: Do you trust anyone with Elisa’s safety besides yourself?

Hector: I am learning the fine art of delegation. I'm never comfortable when the queen is being guarded by someone else, but I've come to see that Lady Ximena is a competent protector and would give her own life to keep her safe.

Ugh but she’s such a busy body she never leaves Elisa alone ;)

Jaime: Describe Joya d’Arena. I know how Elisa sees it but how do you see it?

Hector: Joya d'Arena is a beautiful, varied land with so much untapped potential. It's too ancient, too bound by tradition, for its own good. Alejandro and I used to speculate about a public works project that would bring irrigation canals to the desert and expand our arable land. But war got in the way of everything. Maybe someday.

Someday I’d love to visit! It sounds like it could be a wonderful place!

Jaime: Elisa always seems to get herself into trouble in one way or another. How do you feel about that? It must make protecting her very difficult.

Hector: She is exasperating and stubborn. Forget I said that. She is my queen and wise beyond her years. I’m learning to trust her, and it's my job to make sure the risks she takes pay off.

Bahahahaha I like the exasperating and stubborn statement. We’ll stick with that!

Jaime: If you weren’t a guard what would you choose to do with your life?

Hector: I would be a vintner, like my father. I would make the finest wine in the world.

Yum! I love wine J

Jaime: One last question before you go. Can you share anything about the adventure you all go on in The Crown of Embers?

Hector: Everything about our journey is highly confidential. In fact, I'm surprised you know anything about it. I'm afraid I have to send some of my men over to question you.

Oh I know everything Hector absolutely everything ;) let them come! As long as you join them!
