Blog Tour: Indelible by Dawn Metcalf and a Giveaway!

Hey y’all! I have Dawn Metcalf here author of INDELIBLE here today with a guest post and a different kind of playlist. Also there’s an awesome giveaway so make sure to check that out below!

Visual Playlist

I write in total silence.

This is evidently a bad thing because, despite what all the cool kids are doing, I don’t have a playlist for Indelible. I’d happily invite everyone to a chocolate tasting to get the flavor for the book’s many characters—70-80% dark being a prevailing theme—but that hardly translates over the Internet. (Pity.) However, being that I am a multi-media fangirl of epic proportions, I have decided that I can offer up a visual playlist! Never heard of one? I just made it up.

Herein please find a feast for the eyes, a virtual buffet of visual pleasures, a fab film lineup for a taste of what it’s like to be Joy and Ink set in the world of the Twixt! Grab your popcorn, your remote of choice, and queue up your To Watch list to set the mood for July 30th, the release of INDELIBLE: Book One of the Twixt!

The Lost Boys (Warner Bros., 1987)

Meet Joe Black (Universal, 1998)

Peter Pan (1953, Disney)

The Mortal Instruments (Sony, 2013)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Fox, 1997-2003)

The Craft (Columbia Pictures, 1996)

The Crow (Crowvision, Inc., 1994)

A young girl’s life is forever changed when she is marked by a mysterious fae boy and drawn into the fantastical and dangerous world of the Twixt in INDELIBLE, the first book in the stunningly powerful The Twixt fantasy series by Dawn Metcalf.

Some things are permanent. Indelible. And they cannot be changed back. Joy Malone learns this the night she sees a stranger with all-black eyes across a crowded room—right before the mystery boy tries to cut out her eye.

Instead, the wound accidentally marks her as property of Indelible Ink, and this dangerous mistake thrusts Joy into an incomprehensible world—a world of monsters at the window, glowing girls on the doorstep and a life that will never be the same.

Now Joy must pretend to be Ink’s chosen one—his helper, his love, his somethingfor the foreseeable future and failure to be convincing means a painful death for them both. Swept into a world of monsters, illusion, immortal honor and revenge, Joy discovers that sometimes there are no mistakes.

Metcalf’s unique style and distinct voice add layers to a complex plot and create a fascinating romance that readers will find unforgettable.

INDELIBLE will be available wherever books are sold and at Harlequin.com.

The role of Dawn Metcalf will be played by the tall brunette in the off-the-shoulder, floor-length leather straitjacket. Makeup by Clinique, buckles by Jada Pinkett Smith, hair by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

I have no good excuse for the way I write. I lived in a normal, loving suburban home, studied hard, went to college, went to graduate school, got married, had babies and settled down in northern Connecticut. Despite this wholesome lifestyle, I’ve been clearly corrupted by fairy tales, puppet visionaries, British humor and graphic novels. As a result, I write dark, quirky and sometimes humorous speculative fiction.

  1. Gotta say, I am also a silent writer. Lyrics and music are too distracting because then I just want to sing along. Interesting to have a visual playlist, though and I have seen nearly all of these movies. Great post and thanks for the giveaway!

  2. If I wrote it would be in silence too. I read in silence. I have a tendency to sing along and that is not good for reading comprehension. Thank you. I think I will enjoy the series.

  4. It isn't always possible, but I would prefer to read in total silence if I could. It really helps me focus and dive into each world thoroughly.

  5. When I really need to think deeply about a problem, I prefer silence. When I don't need to concentrate so hard, I like to have some noise in the background. When it is too silence, I know danger approaches.

  9. Ya know what, I would totally appreciate if you could invite us all to a chocolate tasting instead of a music listening. Visual playlist is an awesome idea, though! I approve so much of many of these!
