If Ruby Wright could have her way, her dad would never have met and married her stepmother Willow, her best friend George would be more than a friend, and her mom would still be alive. Ruby knows wishes can't come true; some things just can't be undone. Then she discovers a tree in the middle of an Ohio cornfield with a wormhole to nine alternative realities.
Suddenly, Ruby can access completely different realities, each containing variations of her life—if things had gone differently at key moments. The windshield wiper missing her mother’s throat…her big brother surviving his ill-fated birth…her father never having met Willow. Her ideal world—one with everything and everyone she wants most—could be within reach. But is there such a thing as a perfect world? What is Ruby willing to give up to find out?
Now onto Cristin’s Guest post!
If you could travel to a
different dimension would you go?
Absolutely! In my ideal version of an alternate reality,
Tampa (where I live now) looks like the south of Spain. ¿Por qué no? I spend my
days hanging out in museums and sipping café con leche, and my Spanish is
perfecto.
But if we’re talking about an alternate reality, not a fantasy, I think I would find a parallel life where
I went to law school (as I had planned to do). My closet would be full of suits
and heels, rather than tank tops and flip-flops.
Who would you hope to
meet?
Does this version of reality also include the ability to time
travel? Sure? Great! I’m throwing a dinner party, and I’m inviting C.S. Lewis,
Madeleine L’Engle, Edward Packard (the guy who invented the Choose Your Own Adventure books), Trish
Doller, Suzanne Young, Megan Miranda, and a bunch of other writers from the
past and present. (William Faulkner, come on over.) Maybe a few authors from
the future will show up, too, since they’d already know about the party. As you
might imagine, it’s gonna get loud, and go very late.

Oh, this sound good! I love the idea about altered realities, and changing one thing can alter the past and turn it into the present. I like the concept of this book! Awesome giveaway, thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, this book kind of sounds like one of those Choose Your Own Ending books... Except the character does it! What a cool idea for a book.

The "what if" really interests me. Such a tragic life she's had so far - would it be very different? I just think it's a great idea to explore. Thank you.
ReplyDeletethis looks and sounds very interesting ;) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe alternate realities plot definitely intrigues me. I've had this on my tbr list for a while and I can't wait to read it.

ReplyDeleteI love the cover! I also like the Syfi fantasy aspect of the novel and I too live in Ohio....maybe I should start checking out the corn fields.
ReplyDeleteWow! This sounds insanely creative and original!
ReplyDeleteThe words "Ohio cornfield with a wormhole to nine alternative realities" got me hooked right away.
I've wanted to read Relativity since the first time I heard about it. I love it when stories involve alternate realities. I'm very intrigued by the "what if?" question, so I usually run to read books that involve it. So excited for this one.
ReplyDeleteAlternate realities? Cool! This book sounds like it has a whole lot of potential, so I'm really interested in seeing what the author has done with it.
