Hey, everyone. I’m Shea
Berkley, author of an epic Fantasy series, The Keepers of Life.
Book 1: The Marked Son
Book 2: The Fallen
Prince
Book 3: The Rising King
I say epic because I
write the three M words: magic, mayhem and monsters, the trifecta of
awesomeness. (That’s my opinion, of course, but you can trust me. Pinky swear!)
Honestly, who doesn’t like fantasy stories where good is so nice and bad is so
naughty? We get to write about hot guys who have a driving need to rescue girls
just like us, and girls who can slay dragons while wearing leather. That is too
cool. (Again, just my opinion, but it is cool. Really.)
A big thank you to Jaime
for allowing me to crash her blog today. I hope you all are following our 12
days of kickass Christmas posts and you’ve found a reason to collect new
stories by all the awesome writers Entangled Teen has to offer. We’re a rowdy,
mouthy bunch, but we’re loads of fun. So give us a try. You won’t be
disappointed.
And now let me introduce you to Rebekah Purdy!
About Rebekah:
Rebekah was born and raised in Michigan (just look for the mitten-shaped state on the map). She’s lived there most of her life other than the few years she spent in the U.S. Army. At which time she got a chance to experience MO, KS, SC, and CA.
She works full time for the court system and in her free time she writes YA stories. Pretty much any genre within the YA realm is game for her, but her favorites are fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, thrillers, light sci-fi, and some time travel.
She also has a big family–she like to considers them the modern day Brady Bunch. When her hubby and her met and got married, he had 3 children from a previous marriage, she had 2 and have 1 together. It’s a lot of fun though.
And she can’t forget her other family members–yep, they’ve got some pets: 4 dogs, 3 cats, and 1 turtle. Everyone in the family has one…she won’t bore you all with their names (unless you really want to know). Okay, you talked her into it! Jack, Pearl, Grr…(yes that’s her dog’s name), Callie, Shadow, Mooshoo, Grouchy, and Sorbert. Other than writing some of her other hobbies include: reading (mostly YA of course), singing, swimming, football, soccer, running, camping, sledding, church, hanging with her kids, and traveling.
She belong to a fabulous writing group called YA Fiction Fantatics (YAFF) and you guessed it they all write YA!
REPPED by Jennifer Mishler and Frances Black of Literary Counsel.
And that’s her in a big ‘ol nutshell.
LEGEND OF ME Blurb
Sixteen-year-old Brielle has grown up hearing tales of a beast that kills humans, leaving behind only a scattering of bones and limbs. Or so the village elders say. She thinks it’s just their way of keeping children in line, though it doesn’t explain her grisly premonitions of blood, claws, and severed heads.
When Lord Kenrick, Knight of the Crowhurst Order, shows up asking questions about the legendary monster and Brielle finds a mangled body in the woods, she begins to wonder if the grim stories are true. Her attraction to the handsome knight grows as she spends time with him searching for clues to the creature’s existence, and she becomes even more determined to help him discover the beast’s location.
But as her seventeenth birthday approaches, her nightmares worsen. If Brielle doesn’t figure out the connection between Kenrick, the monster, and visions of a ghostly woman in the woods soon, more people could die. Including those closest to her…

Two dead
rabbits sailed through the air and fell at my feet. A shriek caught on my lips.
Rhyne
chuckled. “Told you I’d find you.” He leaned his bow against a nearby tree, and
hung his line of game on a low branch.
“Rhyne
Butcher, you are a pain in the arse!” I gripped hold of his tunic, giving him a
good shake.
At a
massive crash, we leapt apart, and stared into the thick trees. My heart
catapulted into my throat, as he reached for his bow. A buck and doe scampered
out of the woods and stopped to get a drink at the creek.
Rhyne
glanced at me, and I burst out laughing. “What’d you think it was? The beast?”
I teased.
His lips
twitched at the corners and he tossed his bow aside while pulling me into the
creek. “I’ll show you beast.”
With a
giggle, I splashed him, getting his breeches and white tunic wet. Grabbing the
bottom of my drenched skirt, I bounded through the woods, darting between
trees. I glanced over my shoulder as I rushed onto the main road, screeching as
I saw Rhyne closing in.
When I
turned back around I gasped, nearly running into a black stallion. I tried to
jump back. With a scream, I raised my arms to block myself from the impact but
the rider pulled the reins, stopping the horse mere inches from me.
“Are you
all right?” a masculine voice asked. The knight pulled his helmet from his
head.
My breath
caught in my throat as he slid from his mount. Shaggy black hair fell across
his forehead; his blue eyes were the color of summer skies. He stood tall, his
smile blinding.
“I—I’m
sorry.” I curtsied. “I’m afraid, I didn’t see you coming.”
“No need
to fret. I’m only glad I was able to pull up in time.”
His soft
tone sent a quivering across my skin that had nothing to do with me being
dripping wet.
Rhyne came
up behind me and rested his palm on my shoulder.
The knight
glanced at his hand, then back at me. “My men and I are looking for the village
of Dark Pines. Could you tell me if we’re close?”
Rhyne
cleared his throat. “It’s just around the next bend.”
The
knight’s gaze lingered on me as he stepped forward. “I’m sorry, where are my
manners? Allow me to introduce myself.” His grin widened. “My name is Lord Kenrick
of Crowhurst.”
In one
smooth motion, he set his helmet on his saddle, then took my hand, raising it
to his lips.
My skin blazed beneath his mouth, my heart thudded like the beating
of a thousand hooves in unison. I stood, frozen in place, staring at him. Then
my vision blurred as images flipped through my mind.
“Brielle, it’s been too long since I’ve seen you.”
Lord Kenrick rushed across the stone bridge, moonlight at his back.
I laughed. “It’s only been three nights.”
“Three nights too many.” He scooped me in his arms,
his fingers tangled in my hair as he drew me closer.
Beneath
me, my legs trembled and I shook my head to clear the mental picture. My eyes
searched his and I noticed the dazed look on his face as well and I wondered if
he’d seen the same thing as me. Shivers danced across my neck. Was this some
kind of premonition, a look at what was to come? Deep down, in the pit of my
stomach, I knew we were meant to find each other. But this thought unsettled
me.
