2. Uprooted by Naomi Novik.
3. The Fire And Thorns Series by Rae Carson.
4. The Falling Kingdoms Series by Morgan Rhodes.
5. The Cadet of Tildor by Alex Lidell.
6. The Elemental Trilogy by Sherry Thomas.
7. Serpentine (The Kingdom of Xia Series Book #1) by Cindy Pon.
8. Nameless (Nameless Duology Book #1) by Jennifer Jenkins.
9. The Keeper's Chronicles by Becky Wallace.
10. The Defy Series by Sara B. Larson.
Had to add a few honorable mentions this time as well because 10 just wasn't enough. So here they are.

The Arthurian Saga by Mary Stewart
The Earthsea Cycle by Ursula K. Le Guin

So what about you? Who are your auto buy authors? And come back next week for my Ten Characters I Just Didn't Click With!
Hugs,
Jaime

I would LOVE to take this class! I haven't read any of these books so it would be so eye opening for me. Too bad these courses aren't real, right? Ha. Great list!

I wish I had had a Fantasy 101 class. :) Some good picks- I especially like some of your honorable mentions, but I've been curious about some of your main picks too.
ReplyDeleteI did this topic for my list this week too. We don't share any of the same books though! I shall have to pick up some of your choices :)

Great list. I think a lot of people went with fantasy this week. I have Uprooted on my TBR and can't wait to get to it.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've read any of the books on your list! I'll need to check them out!

Um, YES TO UPROOTED. That'd be a fun one to teach. And I'm glad to see Ursula LeGuin and Mary Stewart make your list - particularly LeGuin! Hers were some of the first fantasy books I remember reading as a child.
ReplyDeleteLayla@The Midnight Garden
I haven't read any of these except for Throne of Glass. I really want to read Uprooted, though; I've heard so many good things about it!
ReplyDeleteGreat list Jamie! Have you read the Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima? It's amazing!
