So today’s topic is Best Books I've Read in 2017 (Doesn't have to be released in 2017, just a book you've read in 2017). And I had a hell of a time narrowing it down to just 10 so you'll see I added complete series and companions of some and there's no honorable mention list this time. If you want to know anything about the books I chose just click on the title of the book or series and it’ll take you to the Goodreads page! And if you click on the image it'll take you to the Amazon page!
And make sure to stop by my co-hosts sites Fiktshun, , Tales of a Ravenous Reader, Seeing Double in Neverland and the lovely ladies at Take Me Away To A Great Read! ! And check out Bridget from Dark Faerie Tales Instagram she will be running the giveaway for that component. Oh and make sure to sign up with the linky to share your lists!
This year has been a year of changes for me. I have read more New Adult and Adult books this year so there will be more of those on my list, there may still be a few YA books but not many. I still love YA but I needed a break from them.
1. All of Amelia Hutchins books take my #1 spot this year. I don't think I've ever binge read any series so fast! They're dark and sexy and very adult. So if you like dark books with sexy men and fae and magic grab these now! Images are the way the series should be read (even with the two spin off books)
2. All of Stacey Marie Brown's books! This was the first set of books I binge read in like a week and a half! We hosted the blog tour for her first book years ago and now I'm kicking myself that I didn't read it then! Books are posted in the order the should be read.
3. UNDONE by Wendy Higgins. I was so happy to hear that Wendy was writing a New Adult sci-fi series and this didn't disappoint! I love all of Wendy's books but I think this may be my favorite of hers! Plus I beta read this so it holds a special place in my heart. Also it's the perfect finale!
4. The Kit Davenport Series by Tate James. This is the first of many reverse harem books I will be posting about today. I love Kit she's badass, funny, smart, and quirky. She also has an amazing harem of sexy men (yup you read that right she has a group of sexy men and she doesn't have to pick just one which I think is awesome!)
5. ALLISON'S ADVENTURES IN UNDERLAND by C.M. Stunich. I'm not even done with this book yet and I know it'll end up being a favorite of this year! It's a reverse harem Alice in Wonderland retelling and y'all know how much I love Alice in Wonderland retellings! And it's the beginning of a series which I know every book will be freaking awesome! I also love her Seven Mates of Zara Wolf Reverse Harem Books as well!
6. Kristy Cunning's THE DARK SIDE series. Be warned this one is very dark and very sexy and it's another reverse harem with four hot bad boys! I wish the rest of the series was out because I LOVED the first two!
7. The FANTASYLAND series by Kristen Ashley. A friend recommended this series to me and I am so glad she did! It has everything I love in a good fantasy romance series! Magic, court intrigue, battles, dragons, sexy men, great sex scenes, and kickass female leads!
8. Rachel E. Carter's THE BLACK MAGE series. This is a YA series and Rachel is an indie author but she is a fantastic writer! I completely fell in love with this series!
9. Alex Lidell's TIDES series. This is another YA one and while Alex was originally traditionally published with THE CADET OF TILDOR which made my top 10 list many years ago. She decided to self publish this one and it is an absolutely fantastic high fantasy series!
10. Alisha Klapheke's UNCOMMON WORLD series. Only 2 books so far (and 2 novella's grab the first one HERE!) in this awesome YA fantasy series and I love that they can be read together or as stand-alones!

ReplyDeleteI love that your list is so different from previous years. New books to add to my TBR
ReplyDeleteFavorite book for 2017 was The Red Lily by Juliette Cross, Wild & Sweet by Rhenna Morgan, & of course Singh and Andrews books. ^_^
ReplyDeleteDid you mean what was my fav book for 2017? (as your question says 2016)? My top fav for 2017 is shared by The Thing About Love in audio by Julie James and read by Karen White and, in print, The Sea King by C. L. Wilson
ReplyDeleteOhh I haven’t read any of these but they all sound like the kind of books I would love and I really wanna read that Wendy Higgins series!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book of 2017 was Long Way Down.
ReplyDeleteyeah, so if you go check out my top 10 in the links above for Lisa Loves Literature, you'll see that, like you, I couldn't narrow it down to just one list of 10, let a lone one! I should probably have included Undone on my list. Sometimes it is harder for me to include the books I've just finished on the list for some reason.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, Stacey Marie Brown is new to me! I'd not heard of her before but I do like the look of her books. :D Great list, Jaime!
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
"The Anchoress" by Robyn Cadwallader was a great read.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list with authors I haven't read from yet. I also had a change in the genres I read for this year and read more science fiction. It's hard to choose just one favorite from this year but Ready Player One was a favorite and I can't wait to watch the movie.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book of 2017 was kind of a tie between Without Merit by Colleen Hoover and Turtles All the Way Down by John Green (I liked them equally, but in different ways).
ReplyDeleteI read a little bit of everything, even non-fiction. I go on long spells of reading NA/adult and then I tire of it and switch back to mostly YA. I'm middle aged, but I don't want to read about people my age...or even past college-age for the most part, as I don't really relate to a lot of the themes like adultery/infidelity (thank goodness) or parenting, infertility, etc. But I have some NA planned for 2018...I keep up fairly well with Jay Crownover, Tammara Webber, Colleen Hoover, and few other New Adult authors.
My favourite book of 2017 was Caraval by Stephanie Garber. It was totally magical, and transported me to a different world! Wonderful giveaway. Merry Christmas x
ReplyDeleteMy favourite book was Some Kind of Wonderful by Giovanna Fletcher - such a fun light read :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays Jaime :D YAY for having read and loved so many books this year. <3 Gorgeous list sweetie :) I haven't read any of these, but they look awesome.
ReplyDeleteThe War that Saved My Life was by far my favorite this year.
ReplyDeleteAll these look amazing! I've been curious about the Kit Davenport Series. At first it didn't seem like the series for me, but the more I hear people talk about it the more I want to give it a chance. I'm especially intrigued by the harem of sexy men - now that sounds like a great way to live haha
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book for 2017 was Ghosted by J M Darhower!!!!
ReplyDeleteRaffle name: Artemis Giote
This list has me excited for some new reads!
ReplyDeleteAnything written by Darynda Jones are my favorite books. Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteThe Onyx Webb series. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI really loved It's a Mall World After All by Janette Rallison, which is surprising because I don't usually read contemporaries!
ReplyDeleteCaraval by Stephanie Garber! It was so amazing, the world created by the author was so magical and unique, so creative! And I loved the characters!
