“Would you like to come back to my house for the afterparty?” Markus
asked me after a few more minutes of chatting.
My heart galloped in my chest like a pack of wild horses on the loose.
I desperately wanted to say yes, but I knew it wasn’t a good idea just yet.
When Markus saw me pause, he added an enticing afterthought. “All of us
will be there.”
“I would love to,” I said with a grimace because he was too gorgeous to
turn down. “But I just can’t tonight.”
I felt like such a tease, but maybe that would keep them entertained
because they would still be captivated by my mystery.
“You have a good head on your shoulders,” Markus nodded. “I respect
that, even if you are killing me.”
“No,” I groaned playfully. “Don’t make me feel guilty.”
Markus chuckled and gave me a handsome smile. “I am only teasing you.”
“Good.” Now it was my turn to pat his inner thigh. He pitched his
eyebrow and gave me a saucy look of approval. That’s where I had to cut off the
fun before it got too out of hand.
I stood up from my seat and tossed my empty beer into the trash can. “I
should get going.”
“So soon?” Miguel looked disappointed.
“I would love to hang out with you guys again sometime,” I confessed.
Each of them gave me a charming smile with sincerity flickering in
their eyes. It reassured me that they wanted to hang out with me again too.
“We would love to see you again,” Jason said.
“Well,” I said and stood in the center of them. “You all have my
number. You know what to do.”
Cole chuckled delightfully as if he found me adorably amusing. “I know
I won’t pass up an offer to call you.” He reached around and placed his palm
against the small of my back and kissed the back of my neck under my ear. He
was driving me wild. He was alluring and his tender touch against my cheek made
me sizzle with lust.
“Okay,” I practically croaked. “Well, in that case, I will be looking
forward to your calls.” I glanced among them and then exited the VIP lounge,
feeling like I got the upper hand and that the ball would now be in their
court.
I just prayed that they would actually call me. Only time would tell,
and I would be waiting on pins and needles for the phone to ring. Against my
better judgement, I was hooked on the guys. They were sexy rock stars. They
didn’t have to call me. They could score any woman they wanted, but they were
giving me the attention for now and I privately hoped that they wouldn’t stop.
Let’s hope they make the next move.
