Welcome to Ecrivain Academy.
Here in these storied halls you will be trained to become one of
the greatest writers the world has ever known.
There are poetry battles.
Friends. Enemies.
Is your story a romance?
Or is it something darker?
Explore all Ecrivain has to offer.
That is, if you can survive until graduation.
Now on to the interview!
Hey Elizabeth! First I want to say welcome to Two Chicks on Books I’m
glad you could stop by for a chat! ECRIVAIN sounds AWESOME and I can’t wait for
everyone to read it!
For the readers:
can you tell us a little bit about the ECRIVAIN and the characters?
Ecrivain is basically Hogwarts for writers!
The main character, Calliope, is a 15 year old who has a love of writing that
she didn’t really take seriously until her parents
threatened to take it away
from her.
How many more
books are planned for the series?
I’ve got at least three planned in total, I
could go for a fourth, but we’ll see!
Were any of the
characters in the book inspired by people from your real life?
Only one was inspired by a person I actually
know, Jamie! I’m friends with a gamer from Brazil and I really wanted to make a
character like him!
Who was your
favorite character to write? What about your least favorite?
Christopher was so much fun to write! He’s a mix
of Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club, and the character Christopher
Marlowe from the tv show Will
What is your
favorite passages/scenes in ECRIVAIN?
Have to say, the part where Jamie quotes Mr.
Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. Goosebumps!
What kind of
research did you have to do for the story?
The bulk of my research was which authors
really “started” their genres, who could be said to have “created” that type of
story, and who should be the head of the fantasy house (Tolkien’s name is
copyrighted, so it couldn’t be him!)
Who is your
ultimate book boyfriend?
Definitely Arthur from my vampire series,
that boy wheedled his way into everything, stealing the spotlight from my
original leading man
What inspired you
to write YA?
I like the way YA stories progress, they
differ from adult books because they’re about self-discovery and learning more
about yourself as you face challenges
Lightning Round
Questions
What are you
reading right now? Or what do you have on your TBR that you’re dying to read?
I’m re-reading the Illuminae series. It’s
sooo good, it’s my second favorite series!
What Hogwarts
House would the Sorting Hat place you in?
I am a Slytherin, but a nice
Slytherin! I’m smart enough to be a Ravenclaw but there are parts of me that
are just too Slytherin for me to be a Ravenclaw.
Twitter or
Facebook?
Facebook! I only post to Twitter through Instagram
LOL
Favorite
Superhero?
Jessica Jones. She shows that sometimes it’s
okay to not be okay and I love seeing that.
Favorite TV show?
WAREHOUSE 13!!! Best one I’ve ever seen, and
I’ve watched over 100 tv shows!
Sweet or Salty?
Sweet, totally! I love sweets
Any Phobias?
I am completely, utterly, and irrationally
afraid of sharks. I have no idea why or where it started, but they terrify me!
Song you can’t get
enough of right now?
Hold my Heart by Lindsey Stirling
2019 Movie you’re
most looking forward to?
My Spy, it looks so hilarious!
Thanks so much Elizabeth for answering my questions! I can’t wait for
everyone to read ECRIVAIN!
