For the readers: can you tell us a little bit
about the THE LAST RULE OF MAKEUPS and the characters?
Cori
Ross has sworn off of relationships. But then she runs into her ex-ex-boyfriend, Grey Latham, the guy she’d always wanted to be Mr. Right. What happens when Mr. Right has the worst timing? Read
Cori and Grey’s story for all of the sizzling details.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on The Cowgirl’s Surprise
Match, the third book in my Tillbridge Stables series.
Were any of the characters in the book
inspired by people from your real life?
No, none of the characters were
inspired by specific people that I know, but friendship and women supporting
women are two things that I value in my own life.
Who was your favorite character to write? What
about your least favorite?
My favorite—that’s not an easy choice.
It’s a tie between Cori (The Last Rule of Makeups) or Natalie from Rules of a
Rebound who makes an appearance in this story. Least favorite—I don’t have one.
What is your favorite passages/scenes in THE
LAST RULE OF MAKEUPS?
The opening lines of the book. Cori is
shopping for shoes. --

removed the turquoise stiletto-heeled pumps from the box on the floor next to
her chair in the shoe store. She slipped them on, and after fastening the
straps around her ankles, she rose to her feet and sank into alluring, red-
soled, four-inch-high perfection.

It had the
ability to turn nightmares into fairytales, tears into smiles, and shit into
glitter-filled, sparkly rainbows. At least temporarily, and after her crazy
work week, she needed a huge dose of happy.
What kind of research did you have to do for
the story?
After the book was written, I had a
great conversation with a real DJ to make sure Grey’s career as a DJ made
sense.
Who is your ultimate book boyfriend?
When I’m reading or writing a romance
book – it’s the hero of the moment.
What inspired you to write romance?
I started reading romance books as a
teen. I fell in love with the genre and dreamed of writing a romance novel. A
few years ago, a friend asked why I hadn’t done that and I didn’t have a good
answer. I started writing then and I haven’t stopped.
